Art Trek Art Program
Students in 1-8 grades receive art instruction provided by Art Trek, Inc., a nonprofit organization dedicated to imparting to each student a basic working knowledge of art techniques, media, vocabulary and history. Art Trek strives to increase students awareness of the influence art has on our culture: personal, interpersonal and sociological. Art Trek supplies both an experienced art instructor and materials to provide Santa Teresita students with hands-on art instruction. The program supports Santa Teresita School’s efforts to provide students with a well-rounded educational experience. This program is made possible by a grant from the Porteous Family Foundation.
Los Angeles Philharmonic Symphonies for Schools Program
The LA Phil provides Santa Teresita School students in 3-6 grades the opportunity to connect to passionate musicians and a world-class orchestra. Teachers participate in workshops that inspire and enable them to guide students through music activities with cross-curricular connections. The Symphonies for Schools program includes free admission to a concert performed by the Los Angeles Philharmonic at Walt Disney Concert Hall, and curriculum in alignment with the State of California Visual and Performing Arts Framework and Arts Learning Standards.
USC Thornton Music Program
The USC Thornton Outreach Program is a music education-oriented program that provides unique learning and performance opportunities for Santa Teresita School students. Each year, USC Thornton School of Music students present a fun “Meet the Instrument” program that introduces our children to an exciting world of music.
